ArtFest: Artistree's Community Day!
Join us for our 3rd Annual FREE ArtFest Community Day!
Enjoy an afternoon filled with creativity, community, and fun for all ages. More than just a fun day out, ArtFest is about bringing our community together through all forms of art.
Saturday, October 3rd from 11am to 3pm
This year’s collaborators are the Mt. Tom Farmers Market, Abbott Memorial Library, Teago General Store, and Pomfret Historical Society adding local farmers, producers and makers, along with story time and family activities, to an already full day of creative fun.
ArtFest has quickly become a favorite fall gathering at Artistree, welcoming families, neighbors, artists, and visitors for an afternoon of creativity and connection. Throughout the day, guests of all ages can explore hands-on art activities and workshops, meet local artists and community organizations, enjoy live music, and discover something new around every corner. Free activities include Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, a children’s bounce house, hair tinseling, art-making, and more.
A community marketplace will feature local artists sharing and selling their work alongside area organizations offering activities and opportunities to connect. The Mt. Tom Farmers Market, opening at 10 AM, will bring an expanded selection of locally grown and handmade goods to the celebration.
This year, ArtFest will also honor Vermont’s 250th with a free screening of Lost Nation at the Grange Theatre beginning at 2:45 PM. Written and directed by Vermont filmmaker Jay Craven, the Revolutionary-era drama follows the intersecting stories of Vermont founding figure Ethan Allen and Lucy Terry Prince, a pioneering poet and early Black Vermonter. Craven will join the audience for a Q&A following the film.
